The curtain falls on the Decathlon Rotterdam Premier Padel P1. With the Ahoy Rotterdam packed to the rafters, the finals of the tournament were a thrilling spectacle. With exciting matches and an electrifying atmosphere, the audience experienced an unforgettable day that put Rotterdam on the world padel map.
The number one pairing in the men’s ranking, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, secured an undisputed victory in their final match of the year against their main competitors, Ale Galán and Federico Chingotto.
The leading pairing demonstrated superior performance from the outset, securing an early break that they maintained despite losing an advantage. This strategy effectively prevented their rivals from gaining ground and was repeated in the second set, resulting in another early break and the prevention of any comeback attempts. However, given the level of performance demonstrated by the Golden Boys, the demand was high, and the pair could not jeopardise the dominance of a duo that, with this victory, adds its eighth title of the year and ties its head-to-head record against its rivals with the sixth victory.
Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría bounced back to winning ways in the Rotterdam P1 after the setback they suffered in the semi-finals of the Madrid P1 a few days ago. The number one pair broke their opponents’ serve in the first game and never looked back in the first set. In the second, they broke twice in quick succession to take a comfortable lead, but Triay and Fernandez broke back to level in the longest game of the final. After minutes of parity and emotion, where the match could have changed its fate, the number one seeds knew how to hold on and in the end were crowned champions of the first historic Premier Padel event in Rotterdam.
The tour now returns to Spain for the Oysho Valladolid Premier Padel P2, the final tournament of the three-week tour that began in September and marked the return to competition for the players after the summer.
