Oysho Valladolid Premier P2 :The draws. Plaza Mayor is ready: Coello aims to win again on home soil

  • Post category:Padel

One of the most anticipated weeks of the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour is about to begin: the return to the iconic Plaza Mayor, venue of the Oysho Valladolid Premier Padel P2, one of the two tournaments in this category scheduled over the coming weeks, before the Tour moves on to Bordeaux. It is a particularly significant event for FIP No. 1 Arturo Coello, who, alongside Agustin Tapia, is defending the titles won over the last two years in his hometown: the first at Polideportivo Pisuerga and the second in Plaza Mayor. Fresh from their victories at the Rome Major and the Valencia P1, Coello and Tapia will begin their campaign in Valladolid against either Alex Chozas and Tino Libaak or Maxi Sanchez Blasco and Sanyo Gutierrez. The No. 2 seeds in the 28-pair draw are Fede Chingotto and Ale Galan, who will open their tournament against either José Diestro and Nacho Piotto or Luis Hernandez and Javi Martinez. There is also a change in the entry list, with Juan Lebron and Leo Augsburger moving ahead of Franco Stupaczuk and Mike Yanguas to become the No. 3 seeds; they will make their debut against Pol Hernandez and Guille Collado or a qualifying pair. Stupaczuk and Yanguas could also face qualifiers in their opening match, or Tolito Aguirre and Alex Arroyo. A wildcard has also been awarded to Rodrigo Coello, Arturo’s younger brother. The projected quarter-finals are: Coello/Tapia (1) vs Nieto/Sanz (5), Gonzalez/Campagnolo (8) vs Lebron/Augsburger (3), Stupaczuk/Yanguas (4) vs Guerrero/Leal (7), Di Nenno/Navarro (6) vs Chingotto/Galan (2).

WOMEN Ari Sanchez and Paula Josemaria, now partnered respectively with Andrea Ustero and Bea Gonzalez, won the women’s draw in 2025. A total of 24 pairs will compete this year, with Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay entering as the No. 1 seeds after sharing the last two titles with Sanchez and Ustero (3). Gemma and Delfi will begin their tournament against either Bea Caldera and Carmen Goenaga or Jimena Velasco and Marta Barrera; Ari and Andrea will face Jessica Castelló and Lorena RufoJosemaria, who also enjoys a special connection with Valladolid, and Bea Gonzalez will be aiming to return to the top after winning five consecutive titles before Rome and Valencia. Their opening match will be against either Aranzazu Osoro and Victoria Iglesias or Lucia Martinez and Agueda Perez. The projected quarter-finals are: Brea/Triay (1) vs Ortega/Calvo (6), Guinart/Virseda (8) vs Sanchez/Ustero (3), Fernandez/Araujo (4) vs Salazar/Alonso (7), Icardo/Jensen (5) vs Josemaria/Gonzalez (2).DRAWS
