Padel arrived in Brussels, where yesterday it took center stage at the event “Padel: Analysis of a Growing European Social and Economic Phenomenon”, held at the European Parliament. An event that opened the doors to a sport that is also a driver of social, cultural, and economic transformation.
For the International Padel Federation, this marked a highly significant moment. President Luigi Carraro, who spoke at the event, highlighted how padel is now both a professional and amateur sport — with 30 million players in over 140 countries worldwide — characterized by strong gender equality and an economic impact estimated in billions of euros.
The event served as official recognition of padel’s growth and value as a social and cultural force. Numerous institutional figures attended, including Antonella Sberna, Vice President of the European Parliament, as well as sports executives, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals.
The FIP’s participation in this institutional event represents a strategic milestone for the future of padel, which aims to become increasingly integrated into European sports policies and sustainable development programs related to sport.
