Acapulco delivered one of those nights to remember. The Arena GNP Seguros was loud, electric and overflowing with energy as the Mexico Major brought a spectacular close to the regular season. And on a night made for champions, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia rose once again to the top. With a performance full of maturity and power, they defended their title in Mexico and secured the season-ending No.1, extending a reign that continues to define this era of padel.

The men’s final had all the tension you would expect from two pairs who have pushed each other to the limit all year. Coello and Tapia started sharp, taking control of the scoreboard and striking first with a 6-4 opening set. Federico Chingotto and Ale Galán responded like the world-class duo they are, raising the tempo and forcing the match into a fierce second-set battle. Everything came down to a tiebreak, a place where Coello and Tapia feel at home. They had already won seven of the eight previous tiebreaks against Chingotto and Galán, and that confidence showed again as they sealed the win 7-6(5).

After the match, Arturo Coello spoke with the poise of a champion and the respect of a rival who understands the journey they’ve shared: “I want to congratulate Ale, Chingo and Jorge. We’ve been battling for two full years, always honestly. Even when everything is on the line, you can see the respect we have for each other. Next year will be another war and I’m sure the intensity won’t drop.”

The women’s final told a different but equally compelling story. Bea González and Claudia Fernández continued their late-season surge with a brilliant, confident performance. They came out fearless, attacked the net, returned with purpose and broke open the match early to take the first set 6-2Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea, the world No.1s, pushed back hard in the second set, but Bea and Claudia never blinked. They matched the pressure, held firm in the key moments and closed out the victory 6-4. It was their first Major together, the first Major of Bea’s career and their second title in a row.

The crowd made sure the moment felt even bigger. Every time Bea won a point, the noise inside Arena GNP Seguros jumped several levels. She is a fan favourite in Mexico, and she captured that emotion after the match: “In the tough moments we became stronger. We’ve been improving every match this week and to beat Delfi and Gemma, the No.1 pair, we had to play extremely well. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.”

Now the Tour heads to Barcelona for the biggest showdown of the year: the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Finals. The No.1 is already sealed, but the battles are far from over. Coello and Tapia arrive with unfinished business, and Triay and Brea are still searching for their first title since early October. No one is easing off, and everything points to a spectacular finale to an unforgettable season.
