The Decathlon Rotterdam Premier Padel P1 once again turned Rotterdam Ahoy into a true padel arena, with around 40,000 fans packing the stands across the week — an increase on last year’s debut edition. The final day alone gathered 8,000 spectators, creating an electric atmosphere amplified by a special halftime show from world-renowned DJ Nicky Romero. It was the perfect setting for a Sunday of finals that confirmed the dominance of the sport’s leading stars: Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello reclaimed the men’s crown, while Gemma Triay and Delfi Brea prevailed in a gripping three-set battle to capture the women’s title.
In the men’s final, Tapia and Coello found redemption just seven days after their loss in Düsseldorf, defeating Federico Chingotto and Alejandro Galán 6-3, 7-6 to lift their tenth trophy of the season — a new record for the most titles in a single Premier Padel year. From the opening exchanges, their authority was clear: Tapia’s effortless power and Coello’s precision at the net set the tone, and even as Galán and Chingotto fought back in the second set, the No.1s held their nerve in a tense tiebreak. With this win, the “Golden Boys” reaffirmed their place at the top of the FIP Race, underlining once more why they remain the benchmark of the men’s game.
The women’s final followed a familiar script between two of the sport’s great rivalries. Triay and Brea struck first with a commanding 6-2 opening set before Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría responded with renewed aggression to level the match. In the decider, however, the world No.1s’ composure once again made the difference. A late break at 5-4 sealed the victory, marking their seventh win in eight encounters against Sánchez and Josemaría and their ninth title of 2025. With every tournament, Triay and Brea continue to strengthen their grip on the top spot — and their legacy in women’s padel.
After two unforgettable weeks in Düsseldorf and Rotterdam, the European swing now heads to Italy. Tomorrow marks the start of the Oysho Milano Premier Padel P1, the final stop of the three-week tour across the continent and the last European event before the season-ending Tour Finals. With both No.1 pairs in full stride, the stage is set for another thrilling chapter in the race for glory.
